JONATHAN LOUIS
DENT
About
I’m Jonathan Louis Dent.
I’m an astrologer and numerologist, a teacher and writer, and an initiated priest of Ifá and Ọ̀ṣun. My work lives at the intersection of tradition, lived experience, and careful listening.
I came to astrology through the body first.
I trained as an actor, earning my MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2015. In that work, I learned how meaning reveals itself through timing, pattern, and presence — how something true often arrives not through force, but through attention. Not long after, I began offering astrological consultations alongside my teaching and creative life. What started as part-time work gradually became a calling.
Astrology, numerology, and divination offered me language for things I had already been sensing: cycles of contraction and emergence, moments when life asks us to pause, and moments when it asks us to act. Over time, my practice deepened into something rooted not in prediction, but in discernment — a way of helping people see what is already moving in their lives, and meet it with clarity and care.
I often tell clients that my role is not to give answers, but to help orient them. In our work together, we look at patterns, pressures, and possibilities as they unfold — without rushing toward certainty or bypassing difficulty. Astrology and numerology don’t tell us what to do. They offer context. They help us understand why this season, and what kind of response it’s asking for.
My astrological practice blends traditional foundations - particularly Hellenistic astrology - with modern approaches, alongside intuitive listening that arises organically in conversation. I’m attentive to lineage and structure, while remaining open to what wants to be named in the room. I’ve been deeply influenced by teachers such as Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, Pam Gregory, Sam Reynolds, SJ Anderson, and Diana Rose Harper, as well as by my initiations into Ifá and Ọ̀ṣun, which continue to shape how I understand responsibility, ethics, and relationship.
At the heart of this work is trust: in your intelligence, in your capacity to choose, and in the wisdom of timing itself. My hope is that our sessions leave you feeling more oriented inside your life — clearer about what you’re carrying, what you’re being asked to release, and what wants your care next.
If you’re here, I’m glad you found your way.
